Big Bear Pioneertown Run, June 28-29-30, 1996

The Big Bear trip of 1996 took us to back to Pioneer Town where we camped behind Pappy & Hariet's restaurant. The weather was warm (Palm Springs registred a blistering 114 degrees). Our "Egg Mc Manx" breakfast was served up with the assistance of Don and Ginny.

The "show and shine" produced a line of 40 cars that were judged by the club members. The first day's trip took us up to Big Bear Lake from the desert floor. We had lunch along the shore of the lake (carried by Bruce Meyers on his special buggy rack). Doug Meyer (our guide for the day and Pioneer Town resident) led some of the more experienced drivers on a rough trail on the way back down the mountain.

The next day, the winners of the previous days judging were announced, followed by a raffle that included a full set new tires! The run for the day took us through Rattlesnake Canyon where we negotiated a running creek and sand wash before returning home.
